At the Bridge

Just this
side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet
goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and
play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and
comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and
vigor; those
who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember
them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small
thing; they each miss
someone very special to them, who had to be left
behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and
looks into the distance. His bright eyes are
intent; His eager body
quivers.
Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green
grass, his legs
carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally
meet, you
cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted
again. The happy kisses
rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved
head, and you look once
more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never
absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Jim aka Jimis, Jimicus Roberticus, JimBob, James Robert
January 1991 to December 31, 2005
Jim was my best kitty friend in the world he was so different from any other cat I had ever met. His favorite food was lettuce, he begged worse than the dogs, he put the dogs in their place and was just a great guy. Jim loved Christmas and knew which toys were his before they were even opened. He went to the dump on weekends and wore an assortment of hats.
There will never be another Jim.....
Brady June 10, 2004 to June 16, 2004
Brady began life as the second born and the orange boy.... he soon became the blue boy......
Brady was a wonderful adorable boy and was one of the smallest puppy in Meghans Cow Litter. I should also add that Brady was a whiner....he would moan and groan and bark and pitch a fit about most everything! When we would hear a puppy yelling or crying, never endingly it was Brady...... Perhaps I should have named him after Terry Glenn or Brett Favre perhaps..... I hope they are listening to him complain up at the bridge or better yet..... maybe there is nothing to complain about. He never won a ribbon, or played a game of ball..... he never even really knew his name, but he has a name and we loved him dearly.... he has left an enormous hole in our hearts and we miss him terribly.
God promised at the
birth of time,
A special friend to give,
His time on earth is short, He
said,
So love him while he lives.
It may be for eight or ten years,
Or only two or three,
But will you, till I call him
back,
Take care of him for Me?
A wagging tail and cold wet nose,
And silken velvet ears,
A heart as big as all outdoors,
To love you through the years.
His puppy ways will gladden you,
And antics bring a smile,
As guardian or friend he will,
Be loyal all the while.
He'll bring his charms to grace your
life,
And though his stay be brief,
When he's gone the
memories,
Are solace for your grief.
I cannot promise he will stay,
Since all from earth return,
But lessons only a dog can teach,
I want you each to learn.
I've looked the whole world
over,
In search of guardians true,
And from the folk that crowd life's
land,
I have chosen you.
Whatever love you give to him,
Returns in triple measure,
Follow his lead and gain a life,
Brim full of simple pleasures.
Enjoy each day as it comes,
Allow your heart to guide,
Be loyal and steadfast in love,
As the dog there by your side.
Now will you give him all your love,
Nor think the labor vain,
Nor hate me when I come to call,
To take him back again?
I fancy each of us would say,
Dear Lord, thy will be
done,
For all the joys this dog shall bring,
The risk of grief we'll
run.
We'll shelter him with
tenderness,
We'll love him while we
may,
And for the happiness we've
known,
Forever grateful stay.
But should the angels call for him,
Much sooner than we've
planned,
We'll brave the bitter grief that
comes,
And try to understand.
If by our love we've
managed,
God's wishes to
achieve,
In memory of him that we have loved,
And to help us while we grieve;
When our faithful bundle departs,
This earthly world of strife,
We'll get yet another
pup,
And love him all his life.

Emily and Oliver
We can't even start to talk about our current pups until we mention Emily and Oliver. They were the first and they made us into the dog people that we are.
We have a secret.
We have a secret you and I,
That no one else shall know,
For who but I can see you lie,
Each night, in fire glow?
And who but I can reach my hand
Before I go to bed,
And feel the living warmth of you,
And touch your silken head?
And only I walk woodland paths,
And see ahead of me,
Your small form racing with the wind,
So young again, and free!
And only I can see you swim,
In every brook I pass. . .
And, when I call, no one but I
Can see the bending grass. . .

Emily and Oliver weren't fancy purebred dogs but they were the
best. They were
littermates and when Emily went over the bridge in 1998 and Oliver in 1999 we never thought there would
be room for any other pup. But they would have wanted us to open our house to others
and that is what we did. There are new pups here now and while we love them with all
our hearts, there will never be another Em and
Ollie.
To see pictures of the New little guys just hit on their links, they each have a page that tells
about them and other pages just for pictures. Just make sure you never
forget about Em and Ollie!!
